Ashgate By Design Charity Retailing

Established in 1988, Ashgate Hospicecare is an independent registered charity that provides care to patients across North Derbyshire at the hospice, in the community and at Chesterfield Royal Hospital. All services are provided free of charge to patients and their families which is mainly funded through donations, legacies and income raised through our 16 shops. Patients with any life limiting illness can access Ashgate Hospicecare specialist services through a referral, normally through their GP.

Ashgate by Design at The Forge was set up in 2009 to help us to raise vital funds. The shop is managed by Leigh Allwood, who is assisted by Deputy Manager, Andrea Longden, Sales Advisor, Carol Blight and over 40 volunteers. The shop sells lots of different items, including many branded and well-known goods.

Ashgate Hospicecare has a total of 16 charity shops situated around North Derbyshire. A key part of the Hospice’s retail strategy is to have shops that are the retail and social part of the community. Our locations are based on our patient and donor’s communities and offer excellent shopping experiences and are visually stunning.
